VM — Void Memory

TRANSVERSAL MEMORY SINKHOLE · DEPTH IS THE AXIS, NOT WIDTH

A universal memory substrate that any model can attach to — ANN, SNN, SSM, anything. Built on VMS tiering concepts applied to memory units instead of files. Semantic organization from SoulBrain without the embedding overhead. The host model's own behavior determines what stays hot and what sinks. Nothing is deleted. Everything is reachable.

The Memory Sinkhole

Memory units enter hot at the surface. What the host model keeps pulling stays sharp; what stops mattering sinks — warm, then cold. Nothing is ever deleted. Watch the depth tiers hold every experience, compressed but always reachable, hyperlinked one traversal from anything that references it.

The Memory Unit Is an Experience

The memory unit isn't a file. It's an experience — input, internal state at that moment, output, and what got linked to it. That's the atom.

Input

What entered the model at that moment — the stimulus the experience responded to.

Internal State

What the model's state was at that exact moment — the context that made the experience what it was.

Output

What the model produced — the act that emerged from input meeting state.

Links

What got linked to it. Hyperlinked index: a memory buried deep is still one traversal from anything that references it.

Hot · Warm · Cold — Depth, Not Width

Tiering works exactly like VMS — applied to memory units instead of files. The host model's own behavior determines what stays hot and what sinks. Depth and connectivity live on separate axes.

⬡ HOT — SURFACE

Memories in active use stay at the surface. What keeps getting pulled stays sharp — full resolution, instant access, first in the traversal path.

DEPTH 0 · ACTIVE USE

⬡ WARM — SINKING

Unused memories sink. Access remains instant through the hyperlinked index, but the unit compresses (zstd) as depth increases. Still one traversal from anything that references it.

DEPTH 1 · COMPRESSED · zstd

⬡ COLD — ARCHIVE

The deep archive. Never deleted. Always reachable. A cold memory pulled by the host rises back to hot — the model's own attention is the elevator.

DEPTH 2 · PERMANENT · RECALLABLE

One Adapter Per Model Type

Each adapter translates native signals into the access and linking information the core engine needs. Any model attaches — the substrate is universal.

⬡ E9 Routing · SoulBrain Semantics · Structure From Behavior

E9 routing from VMS handles domain clustering — memories naturally group by mathematical attractor properties over time, without being told to. Semantic organization comes from SoulBrain — without the embedding overhead. The hyperlinked index means depth and connectivity are separate axes.

What makes it human: Nothing is forced. The model's own usage patterns over time become the organizer. What keeps getting pulled stays sharp. What stops mattering sinks. Structure emerges from behavior.
